Rawa Laddoo

Rava Ladoo is a delectable Indian dessert made with semolina. It is a simple and tasty dish and has a good shelf life too when stored in airtight containers.

INGREDIENTS:
  • Rawa- 1/2 cup
  • Sugar- 1/2 cup
  • Dry coconut- 1/2cup
  • Mixed nuts- 1/4 cup powdered
  • Water - 1/4 cup
  • Milk- two tablespoons
  • Cardamom powder- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Raisins for garnishing
  • Ghee- three tablespoons

How to Prepare:
Step 1:  Heat ghee , roast rawa till it turns uniformly light brown in colour and gives a good aroma. Add sugar and mix well. Add coconut and mix well. Add the mixed nuts powder and mix well. When all the ingredients are fully roasted well, add in the water little by little just coating the rawa mix evenly. It should not be soaked but just coated till it becomes a smooth mixture , somewhat like dry upma. Then add the milk little by little and mix well. (Keep stirring from beginning till end or the mix will get burnt at the bottom giving a foul smell and taste to the entire dish). Remove from flame and cool it till you can touch.

Step 2: Making ladoos
Soak your hands in cold water and take a spoonfull of ladoo mix and make it as gold sized balls. Place a raisin in the centre and serve. This quanity would serve around 15 ladoos.
