Aval nanachathu

This is a typical Kerala evening snack. It goes well with a steaming cut of tea . Its a filling snack and is tasty too. Some have it as light dinner too. Aval /poha is beaten rice. Since in Kerala majority uses Matta rice (the brown colored par boiled rice) the poha available there is brown and thin type which we use for this dish. It also uses coconut , that too , freshly grated coconut which contributes to its juicy texture when mixed together. The jaggery added gives the sweetness.Once mixed it has to be served with chopped bananas . The dish  does not need any cooking but it is incredibly tasty.
