Vegetable sandwich

A very easy ,simple, quick snack which can be made any time when guests arrive or when your kids are hungry or when you miss a snack for the evening tea. You can make the filling of your choice- veggie or non veg. You can also use the left over subjis for this snack.  It can be made within seconds and served crispy and fresh. And the most interesting part is it does not need a drop of oil and it is a very light snack . Of course the heaviness depends on the filling you use but whatever , it wont cross the limit. It is a snack which can be packed during travel too.

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables- potatoes, beans ,carrots, green peas and capsicum. 
  • 1 medium sized onion- chopped into cubes
  • 1 medium sized tomato- cubed
  • 1 inch piece ginger- finely chopped
  • 1 garlic pod, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon-cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tablespoon-turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon- red chilly powder
  • 1 tablespoon- coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon- Maggi tastemaker masala 
  • 1/2 tablespoon- garam masala
  • 1/2 tablespoon -chopped coriander leaves
  • Salt as needed

How to prepare:

Step1: Cook the vegetables. Pressure cook all vegetables for one whistle adding required amount of salt and water.

Step 2: For the masala. Heat oil in a pan, Add cumin seeds. Add onions , ginger, garlic and saute well. Add the cooked vegetables and saute well. Add all the masala powders and salt , and mix well.Cover and cook for 15 minutes stirring in between. Add the chopped coriander leaves and remove from flame.

Step3: Sandwich preparation- Take four breadslices. Spread one spoonful of the masala onto one side of the bread slice and cover it with another plain bread slice. Repeat with the second pair of bread slice. Preheat the sandwich maker till it is ready to use. Keep the bread slices on the hot plate of the sandwich maker and close tight with its lid. Check after 5 minutes. When the bread slices are brown and crisp sandwiches are ready . Remove it from the sandwich maker.



Step4: Serving
Serve hot with tomato sauce
