Puttu Upma

This is a light snack made with leftover puttu. Its easy to make and tasty too. Usually when I have leftover puttu made for breakfast I make this as evening snack so that we would not have to waste it and also think about another snack for evening. This need very less ingredients also and does not need any accompaniment.

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS:
  • Puttu - 2 medium pieces
  • 1 medium sized onion- finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies- finely chopped
  • 1/2 inch ginger - finely chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon -coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon- peanuts and raisins
  • Mustard to season

How to prepare:
Step1: Steam the puttu pieces to make it soft . You can also microwave it for about 50 seconds or so just to make it soft. Then crumble it.Keep aside

Step2: Heat oil in a kadai and splutter mustard seeds. Add the peanuts and raisins and saute till the peanuts are done and raisins puffs up. Add the chopped ginger and saute till it is cooked. Add the chopped onions and saute till it turns brown. Then add the crumbled puttu and mix well. There is no need to add salt as we have added salt while making the puttu. But if you need it you can add.

Step3: Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot. You can add banana slices on it and serve if u like that way.
